Tom Crigan
Financial Advisor
BBus, GDip Fin Planning, FFin
Tom entered financial services in 2002 after 20 years working in Information Technology.
His professional background includes 10 years as a senior advisor for Perpetual Private Wealth, as well as senior roles in IT and sales management with companies including Fuji Xerox and Unisys.
Tom has very good technical knowledge and lectured in financial planning and estate planning at Deakin University from 2015 to 2020.
He has developed extensive expertise in investment management, retirement planning, superannuation, estate planning and the identification of wealth protection needs and taxation issues.
Tom has a passion for estate planning. He believes successful estate planning involves really understanding a client’s family, the detail around the plans they have in place and the desired distribution of assets.
According to Tom, “It can be a challenging process for clients to engage in estate planning but my approach is to create estate plans that give people peace of mind. It is about overcoming the complexity of estate planning, overcoming fear and creating positive plans and getting on with life”.
He helps his clients to understand the outcomes they want to achieve with their estates, to minimise family disputes, taxation issues, unmet expectations from beneficiaries and costly litigation.
Tom’s skills across business, financial planning, specialist estate planning and intergenerational wealth transfer enable him to offer an holistic, balanced approach to financial planning.
In 2015, Tom became the fourth generation of the Crigan family to permanently reside in Point Lonsdale, following his move from Melbourne.
